From January 30 to February 3 children took part in an event called: Winter at school.
Thanks to the activities of the School Director - dr Bogdan Dobrucki, with the support of the leisure manager - Barbara Maziarz, we were able to take part in the project ‘Krakow Together’, organized by the Internationaler Bund Polska Foundation in cooperation with the Department of Education of the City of Krakow, financed by the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF).
As part of this cooperation, we received funding for our students' holidays, who paid only PLN 35 for the entire week-long stay with numerous attractions.
Thirty students from classes I-VIII participated in an event. They had a chance to took part in a variety of activities integrating the group, developing interests and enriching knowledge. They visited ‘Żywe Muzeum Obewarzanka’ – an interactive educational museum where students had an opprotunity to make ‘obwarzanki’ - parboiled dough rings. In the world's smallest Candy Factory, participants took part in classes entitled ‘How it's made?’ to find out where candies and lollipops come from. They also watched a movie: ‘Puss in Boots. Last wish’ in one of the cinemas. Students had classes with RoboTim - they independently built and programmed a helicopter and experimented with baking soda and vinegar to create ‘dancing raisins’. At the Museum of Municipal Engineering, they learned about the history of writing and saw old printing machines. In the GOkidz Amusement Park! students learned about Krakow's legends and had fun in the labyrinth of attractions. Moreover, students played sports games in the gym, ate delicious lunches in the school canteen and took part in reading activities, learning about the adventures of the heroes in the series of books ‘Adventures in Paradise’.
During the ‘Winter at school’ event children had a very imaginative and creative time at school.
